Who was C S Lewis?

C S Lewis (full name was Clive Staples Lewis), Was a highly successful British Christian author and best known as the writer of the allegorical Christian children's tales, 'The Chronicles of  Narnia'.

C S Lewis was born in Belfast in 1898 and was educated at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities in the UK. It was at Oxford University that C S Lewis became close friends with his colleague J R R Tolkien.

C S Lewis and Narnia 

Lewis wrote more than 30 books which have been translated into more than 30 languages, but is known outside Christian circles for his Children's Narnia tales. I loved reading his Narnia books which were originally published between 1950 and 1956. There are seven books in the series:

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950) Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia (1951) The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952) The Silver Chair (1953) The Horse and His Boy (1954) The Magician's Nephew (1955) The Last Battle (1956)
